The Pioneers operates as a discursive network rather than a platform, unfolding across film, publishing, and exhibition on and offline. Through Agile Cinema®, a theory of media articulated via film narrative and Internet art, and Vera Maurina Press, a text–image poetry formation attentive to the conditions of inscription, the project mobilizes montage, collage, décollage, assemblage, and bricolage as structural operations. Meaning emerges not as message but as effect, produced through adjacency, recursion, metaleptic embedding, and temporal overlap, resisting closure, authorship, and fixed interpretation.

Saturday, July 25, 2026 Public Reception 6:30 - 9:30 pm I have always been fascinated by the dreamy atmospheres people make together in the arts, the occult currents of aesthetic knowledge that move through cities, friendship, co-work, studios, and the Internet. We Breathe the Same Air grows out of that interest. I am pleased to invite you to the public opening of the exhibit at Rusha & Co. Gallery curated by The Pioneers Co-Op, with bites and beverages by Michelin Bib Gourmand chef and visual artist Natalia Pereira. The project brings together works by Kenneth Anger, Catherine Corman, Emma Gray, Jon Pylypchuk, Rebekah Rubalcava, myself Saul Appelbaum in collaboration with Artists Artists, Danita Nuchsawat Appelbaum, Santiago Evans Canales, Oceana Celeste, Elodie Goldberg Jacquemain, Hyungi Park of Goyo, Natalia Reyes, and writing by Susan Aberth, a small constellation where some of this collective dreaming converges.
