Obsessed

A poster for the film with Natalia Reyes, made in connection with We Breathe the Same Air, joins another morphology painting. The surface begins as a shaped, three-dimensional structure, receives paint, submits to gravity, and is eventually flattened. Its final geometry retains the memory of its former volume. Film stills from the ASU FIDM project enter alongside a drawing developed for an alternative education initiative with Marian Goodman Gallery. The movement between material experimentation, fashion history, and education suggests another possibility for painting: its composition extends into the transmission of ideas. A surface holds the evidence of its transformations, while the relationships surrounding it continue to grow.
