(Narrative Arc | Logline)

Episodic / Accumulation | Sol Axiom (The Pioneers), Elia Root (The Muse), and King Rivers (The Actor) assemble paintings, poetry, musical fragments, and archival images into a publication whose meaning changes as its pages travel between readers, eventually returning to the studio as the beginning of another work.
(ACt 1)

Paintings, poems, musical fragments, and archival images cover the studio tables. Sol arranges them into provisional sequences. Elia reads passages aloud while King lays out the pages, adjusting the spaces between words and images. A composition begins to emerge, though each of them finds a different place to begin.
(Plot Point 1)
An unexpected letter introduces a fragment that unsettles the arrangement. Elia reads it beside an image Sol had set aside. King places the two on a spread. Their correspondence changes the organizing principle of the book.
(Act 2)
Pages accumulate through repetition and variation. Sol returns to images he thought he had finished with. Elia’s pauses and changes of emphasis alter the rhythm of the text. King moves a passage forward, displacing several pages that had seemed settled. Each addition changes what precedes it, and the publication grows through their successive readings.
(Plot Point 2)
The completed publication reaches a reader who rearranges its fragments into an entirely different composition. A photograph of the new arrangement arrives in the studio. Sol searches for the original sequence. Elia follows the reader’s version, while King spreads their proofs beside the photograph.
(Act 3)
The reader’s interpretation becomes material for another edition. Sol places the photograph among the paintings. Elia begins reading from a different page. King opens the layout again. The publication extends beyond its binding, and what had seemed complete becomes a place to begin.
