A.3 | EP.8 | Working Frameworks

(Narrative Arc | Logline)

Journey / Transformation through displacement | Sol Axiom (The Pioneers) occupies a three-story shophouse in Bangkok, where Elia Root (The Muse) and King Rivers (The Actor) join him in turning a conventional commercial building into a working framework for painting, drawing, digital production, and everyday life. Each floor serves a different purpose, while the storefront remains permanently closed.
(ACt 1)

Sol organizes the shophouse vertically. A storefront occupies the ground floor, a studio the second, and sleeping quarters the third. King carries equipment upstairs while Elia walks through the rooms, opening windows. The building begins to fill with materials, movement, and the sounds of the street.
(Plot Point 1)
The storefront never opens. King sets up the computers on the second floor. Sol lays out drawings across large painted wooden panels. Elia passes through the empty shop on her way upstairs, where the working day has already begun.
(Act 2)
The painted panels become working surfaces for drawings and digital compositions. Sol arranges fragments, King photographs and recombines them on screen, and Elia moves between the images and the spaces they describe. A gesture becomes a photograph, a photograph returns as a drawing. Materials travel up and down the stairs, accumulating through repetition, displacement, and recombination.
(Plot Point 2)
The separation between commerce, production, and domestic life begins to dissolve. Drawings reach the sleeping quarters. Equipment gathers in the unused shop. Elia finds Sol working on the floor where they had intended to eat. King moves a lamp downstairs. The building’s original functions remain recognizable, but none operates quite as intended.
(Act 3)
The shophouse becomes a complete working framework, shaped by their movements and daily routines. Sol paints while King works at a computer. Elia heads upstairs to sleep, passing an image of herself on the way. Three floors hold the work and the lives producing it. The storefront remains closed.
